Critics and Consumers Agree: Super Mario Galaxy is Out of This World

Could Super Mario Galaxy(TM) be the best video game of all time? If you ask critics and consumers, the answer is a resounding yes. Reviewers for video game and mainstream media alike are responding with high marks to the boundless sense of wonder and fun the game brings to both experienced and novice players. Independent review-tracking site GameRankings.com now lists Super Mario Galaxy for Nintendo's Wii(TM) system as the best-reviewed game of all time, and another review-tracking site, Metacritic.com, lists Super Mario Galaxy as having "Universal Acclaim," with a score of 98 out of 100.

Neuralstem Obtains UCSD Stem Cell Delivery System for Use in Spinal Cord Trials

Stem cell company, Neuralstem, Inc. , today announced that it has exclusively licensed the "Spinal Multisegmental Cell and Drug Delivery System," invented by Dr. Martin Marsala at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). The exclusive, worldwide license to Neuralstem covers all fields of use and includes the right to grant sublicenses. Under the terms of the agreement, UCSD will be eligible for milestone payments and royalties and Neuralstem will assume the cost of development, manufacture and approval of the product.

Children's National Opens New Patient Tower

On Sunday, November 18, 2007, Children's National Medical Center moved approximately 80 patients into its newest wing of the hospital--the East Inpatient Tower. In just under 8 hours, six units, including Critical Care, Heart and Kidney, Surgery, Hematology and Oncology, and Neurology and Orthopedics moved all patients to the new tower. Critical care units that moved to the new tower include the expanded Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), and as well as a new Neuro Intensive Care Unit.

Allstate Donates a Three-Year Subscription of Encarta Africana to Chicago Public High Schools

Nearly 500 people turned out at Urban Prep Charter Academy on Thursday, November 15, 2007 for Allstate Insurance Company's announcement that they will provide the online version of Harvard Professor Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr.'s encyclopedia Encarta Africana to all Chicago Public High Schools for three years as part of their "Beyond February" national campaign. Chicago Public School Board President Rufus Williams accepted the donation from Dr. Gates on behalf of 140 schools that will have access to this award-winning multimedia encyclopedia of black history and culture.
